Attorney Howard Merricks began his legal career as an insurance defense attorney with the law firm of Smalbein, Johnson, Rosier, Bussey, Rooney, and Ebbets. Having learned how insurance companies evaluate claims, Attorney Merricks exclusively represents plaintiffs in the areas of personal injury litigation, automobile accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse. He has successfully handled thousands of cases in his 30+ years as a trial attorney.
Howard Merricks is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar, The Florida Justice Association (formerly The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers), and the American Association for Justice, (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America). Mr. Merricks is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Claims. Mr. Merricks is an honors graduate from the University of Florida and Mississippi College School of Law.
